Select Demo Services, LLC was contracted by Suffolk Construction Co. to perform the complete interior demolition and abatement of two Harvard Business School student residence halls - Chase Hall, four stories, 50,000 SF, and McCulloch Hall, four stories, 53,000 SF, and the Dillon House - three stories, 5,800 SF MBA Admissions Office. Select’s scope consists of a full interior demolition of both halls and the admission office, inclusive of masonry and drywall walls, ceilings, flooring, windows, floor penetrations in staircases, and MEP chases, SOG trenching, and MEP removals. Select’s abatement scope was inclusive of the removal asbestos asbestos-containing materials (ACM) that will be impacted by the building renovation, such as ACM flooring and mastic, roofing, window, vent, and door caulking/glazing, pipe insulation, ceiling coatings, plaster, and insulation board. This work is part of a larger renovation project that focuses on revitalizing these three residence halls to meet 21st-century sustainability and comfort standards. The overall project will improve indoor air quality, reduce water consumption, and enhance accessibility. This renovation reflects Harvard’s commitment to providing students with world-class residential facilities while achieving sustainability targets aligned with the university’s climate goals.
