Select Demo was contracted by Suffolk Construction Co. to complete the selective interior and exterior demolition of the 100,000 SF field house, including the removal of all roofing and asbestos façade, as well as the demolition of all interior finishes and second floor locker room curbs and slabs. Select’s scope also included the complete demolition of a 400,000 SF cast-in-place portion of the building, including separations at two ends from the sections scheduled to remain. A Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection issued Nontraditional Work Plan was utilized for the demolition and bulk load out of asbestos transite siding. The entire project was performed on an active school campus with restricted trucking hours.
