Project Value Range: $2.5 million - $3 million

Select Demo was contracted by Daniel O’Connell Sons to perform the selective demolition and asbestos abatement throughout UMASS Amherst’s Goodell Hall, which was a part of a larger renovation project that addressed the building’s core spaces and systems, ADA compliance, MEP systems upgrades, replacement of windows and roof in the 1957 portion of the building and targeted wood window and trim repairs in the 1934 portion. Goodell is comprised of two parts: an original 3-story, 35,000 SF building built in 1934 and a 6-story addition of 95,000 SF completed in 1960. Select’s scope consisted of the demolition of walls, ceilings, flooring, and millwork throughout the administrative building located on the heavily populated UMass Amherst Campus. Select’s scope also included the saw-cutting of concrete; excavation for new plumbing; removal of the entire stack area slabs and structural steel; and the asbestos abatement of VAT/mastic flooring.
