Bradley Airport Vertical Circulation Improvements, Windsor Locks, CT

Select Demo Services, LLC was contracted by Suffolk Construction Co. to perform demolition services as part of the multi-phased Vertical Circulation Improvements Project at Bradley International Airport. The project included a 22,000 SF expansion to add new elevators and escalators at both ends of the terminal, improving passenger circulation and allowing for expansion of the existing TSA security checkpoint area.
Select Demo’s scope included approximately 30,000 SF of selective demolition, including ceilings, flooring, walls, storefront and curtain wall systems, exterior stairs, metal roofing, and an existing escalator. Select also performed saw-cutting of slabs on deck to accommodate new slab infills at the removed escalator locations along the east and west elevations.
The final phase of Select’s work was performed within the core of the active airport on both the land and air sides. Work was completed during third shift to minimize disruption and allow the airport to remain fully operational throughout construction. Select successfully completed its work on this complex, multi-phased project, which spanned from 2023 through 2026.
