Select Demo was contracted by Turner Construction Co, with another separate contract with CGM (a drywall subcontractor working for Turner), to perform demolition and asbestos abatement at the Sterling House, a community center based in Stratford, CT that provides preschool education, after school, summer camp, athletics, food pantry services and other programs and services to the Connecticut area. Select Demo's scope consisted of interior, selective demolition, asbestos floor tile removal and lead abatement for minor renovations to allow for the install of sprinkler piping. This 13,000 SF, 2-story grand Victorian mansion, built in the 1866, was donated by its owner in 1931 to the Town so they could utilize it, and its park-like grounds to the Town of Stratford as a community center.
