Select Demo was contracted by Suffolk Construction Co. to perform the phased, structural, and selective interior demolition and extensive site work at Boston's South Station Terminal. Select’s scope included: extensive engineering for structural demolition, the removal of concrete, footings, foundations, grade beams, decks, track, and head house canopies and platforms. Select performed extensive demolition within the bus terminal, while the train and bus terminals were active. Demolition will make way for a 678-foot, 1 million SF tower consisting of retail, residential, and office space, a hotel, an office building, a 5-level parking garage, and the 106,000 SF expansion of the bus terminal above the tracks of the existing South Station Head House and the existing bus terminal.
