Select Demo was contracted by Jacobs Engineering to perform the environmental remediation at a former off-site warehouse for Honeywell International Inc., an American advanced-technology company that manufactures aerospace and automotive products; residential, commercial, and industrial control systems; specialty chemicals and plastics; and engineered materials. Select’s scope consisted of the structural demolition of a 25,000 SF radiologically contaminated warehouse, the decontamination of a 40,000 SF contaminated slab, and the remediation of 1,100tons of uranium-contaminated soil. Restoration activities included grading, hydroseeding, and the installation of a permanent fence. All waste was disposed of as low-level radioactive materials.
