Project Value Range: $6 million - $7 million
Select Demo was contracted by Cherokee Federal, a division of Cherokee Nation Businesses, a team of tribally owned federal contracting companies, to perform the demolition and asbestos abatement in approximately 44 wood building structures along the National Seashore of Cape Cod as a part of a federal National Park Service's Project. All structures were of various sizes with some being demolished as asbestos containing under Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Nontraditional Workplans. The main project consisted of 18 family housing units, along with five dormitories, one cafeteria and a theater on the Highlands AFB. Just 5 miles from the base were three federal buildings consisting of two labs and a warehouse. There were also 16 residential properties all along the Cape ranging from Eastham to Truro - all being between 1,600 and 2,000 SF each. All structures were abated and completely demolished. Many of the structures were located directly on the Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and each site that was had an Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. Work areas close to the water were also fenced off to create a buffer to prevent any demolition debris from entering the water.
