Select Demo was contracted to perform the selective, interior demolition throughout a 100,000 SF, two-story partially occupied active research lab facility. Select’s scope also consisted of the erection of temporary protections. Demolition was performed “dust free” due to the nature of the facility utilizing polyurethane protection, negative air machines and with the use of shrouds attached to HEPA vacuums. Work involved beam pockets for a new bond beam, saw-cutting elevated and at grade slabs, demolition of walls, ceilings and miscellaneous items. Temporary protections also consisted of metal stud and FRP temp walls caulked and sealed to perform work in the ultra-sterile areas.
