Select Demo Services, LLC was contracted by Consigli Construction Co. to perform the demolition scope associated with the renovation of The Country Club’s clubhouse in Brookline, MA.
Select’s scope included the selective demolition and removal of approximately 25,000 SF of the western portion of the structure, including complex building separation to the nearest columns and beams to maintain the structural integrity of the remaining building. The work required engineered shoring supported by P.E.-stamped plans specific to demolition activities.
Additional structural demolition included removal of slab-on-grade and below-grade foundation walls, as well as sawcutting and removal of slab-on-grade within portions of the structure that remained. Interior and exterior demolition included walls, ceilings, millwork, doors and frames, railings, floor openings, staircases, chimneys, an elevator cab and associated MEP systems.
All work was successfully completed through detailed sequencing, engineered shoring and close coordination within the occupied and structurally sensitive facility.
